At GOP Debates, Lack Of Compassion Is The Fashion

Since Rick “Science Is For Sissies” Perry has joined the field of wacky, unqualified Republican Presidential candidates, the debates have become very entertaining. Not so much as the result of the Texan’s doubletalk and doubling-down on his radical beliefs, but rather because of the bizarre behavior of the members of the audience.

Don’t get me wrong, the seven candidates themselves are spewing plenty of venomous hate-speech and nonsensical rhetoric. These pretenders are  incapable of answering the questions asked by the moderators. They also seem to have a penchant for simply repeating ad nauseam the words “taxes”, “Ronald Reagan” and “Obamacare.” Nonetheless, it is the audience members who are  demonstrating the most disgusting behavior and revealing the ugly underbelly of the conservative movement.

For example, at last week’s MSNBC/Politico debate, a moderator asked Rick “Ponzi Scheme” Perry the following question: “…your state has executed 234 death row inmates. That’s more than any other Governor in modern times. Have you struggled to sleep at night with the idea that any one of those might have been innocent?” As soon as the moderator finished speaking the words “modern times”, the audience erupted in raucous applause. They were not cheering for Perry’s response inasmuch as he had not yet begun to elicit one. No, in fact, the audience was applauding the very fact that 234 human beings had been executed in Texas. That is correct, this audience, filled with conservative Republicans, was happy and excited that human beings were being put to death at an extremely high rate in the Lone Star State.

We then had a repeat performance of audience lack of compassion at last night’s CNN/Tea Party Express debate in Florida. The moderator posed the following hypothetical question to Ron “The Civil Rights Act Is Unconstitutional” Paul:

Moderator: “A healthy 30 year old young man has a good job, makes a good living but decides, ‘you know what? I’m not going to spend $200 or $300 a month for health insurance because I’m healthy, I don’t need it’. But something terrible happens and all of a sudden he needs it. Who is going to pay if he goes into a coma? Who pays for that?”

Ron Paul: “In a society that you accept welfarism (sic) and socialism, he expects the government to take care of him.”

Moderator: “But what do you want?”

Ron Paul: “What he should do is whatever he wants to do and accept responsibility for himself. My advice for him is to have a major medical policy…”

Moderator: “But he doesn’t have that. He doesn’t have it and he needs intensive care for 6 months. Who pays?”

Ron Paul: “That’s what freedom is all about. Taking your own risk. This whole idea that you have to prepare and take care of everybody.”

Moderator: “But Congressman, are you saying that society should just let him die?”

As soon as Paul said the words “taking your own risk”, the audience began cheering loudly.  The real disgusting development however, was when audience members began shouting “Yeah”, “Yeah” when the moderator asked if society should simply allow the hypothetical man to die.

These audience responses are revealing the honest and true feelings of the typical conservative Tea Party Republican. It is evident that they are not the Christian pro-lifers that they pretend to be. Instead, they are a selfish and heartless group of mean-spirited haters with no compassion for their fellow Americans.

The typical conservative Tea Partier Republican is not a patriotic person.

God Bless The U.S.A. song link:

(sung to the Lee Greenwood song “God Bless The U.S.A.”)

If tomorrow all my brains were gone
And I was just plant life
With a feeding tube shoved in
Against the wishes of my wife
I’d thank my lucky stars the G.O.P. had their way
And curtailed my family’s freedom
Made them watch me waste away

Boy, I’m proud to be a Republican
Like Huckabee and Romney
And I won’t forget Glenn Beck who cried
Right there on Fox TV
Cuz they’ll gladly stand up next to you
And berate your union pay
I just love those hate filled flames they fan
They hate the U.S.A.

Bachmann hates in Minnesota
Alaska has Sarah P.
Rick Perry down in Texas
They’re in the Tea Party
Not Detroit nor in Boston
Too liberal, black and gay
There’s no soul in any Republican heart
And they love it just that way

Yes, I’m proud to be a Republican
Just like Rush and Hannity
And I love the facts they do deny
Right there on Fox TV
And I’ll gladly stand up next to you
And castigate Tina Fey
Cuz I never doubt those Red State men
No matter what they say

Oh, I’m proud to be a Republican
As I sit here sipping tea
Palin’s “death panels” can’t be denied
They say on Fox TV
Sarah sends a Twitter –  text to you
Six or seven times a day
It’s Republicans that love this land
In our per-ver-ted way!

Palin Pulls Romneyesque Flip-Flop On Foreign Policy

The fact that Sarah Palin has no mind of her own was made evident once again this week. Ever since the late summer of 2008 when she was unwisely chosen by John McCain as his vice presidential running-mate, Palin has been a nation-building war-hawk who favored an ever-growing US military budget and worldwide footprint.

In June of 2008 while discussing the war in Iraq she said,

“Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending soldiers out on a task that is from God. That’s what we have to make sure that we’re praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.”

Later in 2009 Sarah Palin had this to say about Afghanistan:

“McChrystal gave the president the advice and said, ‘We need essentially a surge strategy in Afghanistan, so that we can win in Afghanistan. And that means more resources, more troops there.’ It frustrates me and frightens me — and many Americans — that President Obama is dithering around with the decision in Afghanistan.”

Finally, as recently as February 2011, the former ex-quitting half-term Governor of Alaska said this about Libya,

“We should have no illusions. Gaddafi is a brutal killer and Libya – not to mention the world – would be better off if he were out of power. Now is the time to speak out. Speak out for the long-suffering Libyan people. Speak out for the victims of Gaddafi’s terror. NATO and our allies should look at establishing a no-fly zone so Libyan air forces cannot continue slaughtering the Libyan people. We should not be afraid of freedom, especially when it comes to people suffering under a brutal enemy of America. Here’s to freedom from Gaddafi for the people of Libya.”

That was then, however. Sarah Palin has now morphed into an isolationist who disfavors nation-building and an expansive US military. At a poorly attended speaking engagement at Colorado Christian University last Monday, Palin unveiled her foreign policy flip-flop. reports that,

” First, Palin said, ‘we should only commit our forces when clear and vital American interests are at stake. Period.’ That point led to her second, dismissing nation-building as a ‘nice idea in theory,’ but not the ‘main purpose’ guiding American foreign policy.

Palin continued down that track by insisting that a president must be able to articulate ‘clearly defined objectives’ before foreign interventions – a standard she has recently said Obama failed to live up to in Libya. As her fourth point, Palin declared that ‘American soldiers must never be put under foreign command.’Palin’s concluding statement deviated somewhat from ideology she had been espousing, as she stated that while ‘sending our armed forces should be our last resort… we will encourage the forces of freedom in the world.’ That last point is somewhat consistent with the non-interventionist ideology Palin has been growing fond of in recent weeks – but also provides her a clever escape clause from her stated theory that has allowed her to criticize Obama for, as she has said, acting too slowly in Libya.

‘We can’t fight every war, we can’t undo every injustice in the world,’ Palin said. Sunday’s attack on bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan was ‘an effective use of force,’ Palin said, unlike the ‘ill-defined’ mission in Libya.”

So let’s get this straight. Sarah Palin is now against the NATO no fly zone that she was in favor of just last February. She is also now against the nation building that she once claimed was “God’s plan”. This change of heart is very reminiscent of Palin’s favoring that famous “bridge to nowhere” before she was later against it. It is also akin to Mitt Romney’s flip-flops on such heartfelt issues as women’s choice, gun rights and universal health care. What could have triggered Palin’s reversal?

Actually, it is quite understandable. You see, Palin’s longtime hawkish neo-conservative foreign relations consulting firm Orion Strategies has cut its ties with her. “The personnel shift carries an ideological charge,” wrote Politico’s Ben Smith. [Scheunemann and Goldfarb of Orion Strategies] crafted for Palin a policy platform and voice reflecting an eagerness to use American force. adds, that Orion had been spoonfeeding “Palin’s mostly neoconservative stance on a range of foreign policy issues, including her opposition to New START, support for robust defense budgets, criticism of Obama’s handling of the U.S.-Israel relationship, and backing for the surge in Afghanistan.

In contrast, Palin’s new foreign policy consultant, Peter Schweizer, a Hoover Institution fellow who blogs for (moonbat-crazy) Andrew Breitbart’s website Big Peace, has a more libertarian and Tea Party-friendly isolationist approach to foreign policy. reports that “Schweizer has articulated a more skeptical view of the use of American force and promotion of democracy abroad.” Inasmuch as Sarah Palin has no independent thoughts of her own regarding either domestic or foreign policy, she happily took on the mindset of her newest psuedo-thinker. Consistency be damned!

Wonderful World (Don’t Know Much) link:

(sung to the Sam Cooke song “Wonderful World”)

Don’t know much about geography
Don’t know much ecology
Don’t know much about that climate change
Don’t know why voters think I am strange

But I do know I love my shoes
And I really love my beehive ‘do
What a right wing world this should be

Don’t have much of an education
I know a lot about procreation
Opposition should have no voice
Pregnant women should have no choice

Yes, I do practice “politics of hate”
And I love to equivocate
What a right wing world this should be

Now I don’t claim that I can see Russia
From my living room bay
And I do not star on “Thirty Rock”, baby
That’s the talented Tina Fey

Don’t know much about interviews
Don’t know many Supreme Court views
Can’t name any books that I’ve read
Sure glad Bristol and Levi aren’t wed

But I do know my time is due
And I’ll be there in 2-0-1-2
What a right wing world this will be

And I do know you’ll love Sarah P.
We’ll be a nation of Scientology
What a right wing world this will be

McCain Says, “Take That, Sarah!!!”

The bad news for Sarah Palin just keeps piling up. Palin’s series of unfortunate events seems to have been triggered by her sniper-sight symbol-laden map and the subsequent Tucson massacre. As the result of her specifically having targeted Gabrielle Giffords in that ill-conceived ad, Sarah Palin will now forever be linked to that tragedy. Since the day of the shootings, everything has gone down hill for the former ex-quitting half-term Governor of Alaska.

First, she made things worse for herself when she unsuccessfully attempted to rehabilitate her image by means of a self-produced video which is now known as her “I Was The Real Victim Of The Tucson Shooting” speech. That was quickly followed by the release of a CBS/New York Times poll of registered voters which revealed that Palin now has only a 19% “favorable” rating. Then she was crushed by Mitt Romney in the New Hampshire straw poll despite the fact that it was heavily attended by Tea Partiers. She suffered further Tea Party disgrace when moonbat-crazy Michele Bachmann was chosen to present the “official” Tea Party response to the President’s State of the Union Address. In an attempt to reclaim some Tea Bagger street cred, Palin then gave her own response to the SOTUA but made a fool of herself by misstating Soviet history and further embarrassed herself with her oft-repeated “WTF” quip. Next, her reality television show was canceled. She then suffered the indignity of having the National Enquirer reveal that her husband cheated on her with an Alaskan prostitute. Immediately thereafter, she was reduced to a sex object when actor Tracy Morgan referred to her as “good masturbation material’.

Well, that is certainly more than most educationally-challenged, violent rhetoric-spewing, death-panel fabricating, mid-term quitting politicians could handle. Fate however, was not through with raining more bad luck down upon Sarah Palin. Her former running mate, John McCain announced yesterday that he will not endorse Sarah Palin should she choose to run for President in 2012. Politico reports that when asked about a 2012 endorsement in the Republican primary, McCain said, “I think I’m staying out of this for the first time in many years.” The non-vote of confidence is not all that surprising in that McCain is fully aware of all the negative things Palin has had to say about the 2008 McCain campaign. He is also sure to remember that Palin tried to steal his moment on election night in 2008 by attempting to give her own concession speech. Nonetheless, if any potential candidate was relying on McCain’s endorsement, it was the Queen of Quit. After all, it was McCain who almost placed her in the position of being merely a heartbeat away from the presidency three years ago. Perhaps then, this is McCain’s way of apologizing to America.

It’s All Over Now song link:

(sung to the Rolling Stones version of the song “It’s All Over Now”)

Well, Palin was around way too long
She winked those eyes, went to Hong Kong
But her heart’s now broken, that’s no lie
Tables turn and now it’s her turn to cry

Some crackpots used to love her, but it’s all over now
Some crackpots used to love her, but it’s all over now

Well, she thought that she’d be crowned a queen in D.C. Town
She’d spend book deal money to buy herself some fame
She has no clout, that must be a blow to her pride
Tables turn and now it’s Sarah who cries

Some crackpots used to love her, but it’s all over now
Some crackpots used to love her, but it’s all over now

(musical interlude)

Well, on Meet The Press Sunday morning, did you hear what they said?
“Palin’s political future is all but dead”
Brooks, Dionne and Murphy really smacked Palin down
Now the whole world knows that she is just a clown

Some crackpots used to love her, but it’s all over now
Some crackpots used to love her, but it’s all over now
Some crackpots used to love her, but it’s all over now

Palin Deemed “Unqualified” By “D.C. Elites” (And By Everybody Else Also, Too!)

With all of the non-stop media coverage of her every breath, you might get the impression that Sarah Palin is a legitimate contender for the office of the Presidency. Palin reinforces that perception with every political comment she utters on her un-reality television show and with every Facebook post and Twitter tweet she makes in response to every word or action of the Obama administration. Additionally, it is absolutely clear that Palin’s book-signing stop in Iowa and photo-op in Haiti were nothing but the political public relations stunts of an aspiring candidate. Problem is, virtually nobody feels that the former ex-quitting half-term Governor of Alaska is fit for the job.

The most recent Politico poll reveals some expected and quite unexpected facts. For instance, we learned that Palin’s dislike of Washington D.C. “elites” is mutual. CBS News reports that the poll indicates that well-to-do “Washingtonians are far less likely than the general American public to believe Sarah Palin is qualified to be president – and an overwhelming majority of them believe the former Alaska governor is actually a negative influence on U.S. politics as a whole.” Politico conducted its poll between December 3rd and 8th and defined “D.C. elites” as people who live in the D.C. metropolitan area, earn more than $ 75,000.00 per year, are involved somehow in politics or policy making and have one or more college degrees. (By the way, it is interesting to note that, but for living in D.C., Palin herself would qualify as an elite. Ouch, that’s gonna leave a mark on the Queen of Quit). Not surprisingly, only 11% of D.C. elites believe Palin is qualified to be President. Indeed, a whopping 86% of those folks thought Palin specifically unqualified to be President. Additionally, 79% of D.C. elites believe Sarah Palin is a “a negative influence in national politics”. These results were predictable in light of Palin’s much-ballyhooed “War on Elites”.

What was quite unexpected however, and quite damaging to Palin, was that the poll revealed that only 23% of “non-D.C. elites” believe she is qualified to be President. More damaging yet, is the revelation that 64% of “non-D.C. elites” think that Palin is specifically unqualified for that office. Furthermore, 50% of “non-D.C. elites” believe Palin is “a negative influence in national politics”.

So, what have we learned? The lesson is that “elites” believe that Sarah Palin is unqualified to be President and so doesn’t virtually everybody else also, too. Accordingly, the next time you watch Fox News and hear how everybody loves Palin, simply remind yourself that time and again, unbiased polls reveal exactly the opposite. Nobody really wants Sarah Palin in higher office. Do not let the Fox News echo-chamber lead you to believe otherwise.

Rudolf The Red Nosed Reindeer song link:

(sung to the theme of “Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer”)

You know Paris and Lindsay and Charo and Britney
Nicole, Ivana and Jessica Simpson
But do you recall the most famous bimbo of all?

Sarah the Red State bimbo
Had a very strange hairstyle
And she had a way of speaking
That reminded one of Gomer Pyle

All of the other guv’nors
Used to laugh and call her names
Because her stupid glasses
Were all lens but had no frames

Then one balmy summer day
John McCain enquired
Sarah, you’re so “mavericky”
Won’t you please be my V.P.?

Then all the dumb red staters
Wondered who the hell was she
They never heard of Palin
The Alaskan hillbilly

Sarah the red state bimbo
Dressed like a flight attendant ‘ho
And she told lies so often
We could all watch her nose grow

All of the other bimbos
Used to laugh and call her names
They all knew Sarah Palin
Was a gal that had no brains

Then one balmy July day
They heard Sarah say,
“I won’t give up without a fight”,
“Unless I quit my job tonight”

Then how right-wingers loved her
As they shouted out with glee
“Sarah, the red state bimbo”
“you’ll go down in history”

Palin Laments, “Say It Ain’t So, Joe”!

"Damn You, Joe Scarborough!"

Who says that nobody listens to Sarah Palin? For months now the cliché-loving, former ex-quitting, half-term Governor of Alaska has been whining about anonymous sources who have chastised her in the “lamestream media”. She has challenged them to “man-up” and put their names to their denunciations. She has implored her unknown assailants to strip themselves of their veils of secrecy and face her “mano-a-mano”. Well Sarah, as the Good Book says, “ask and you shall receive”. Remember however, to “be careful what you ask for, because you just might get it”. Yesterday, MSNBC‘s Joe Scarborough accepted your challenge and “told the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth”.

The television talk show host and former conservative Republican congressman from Florida publicly aired his thoughts about Sarah Palin. It was not pretty. In a blistering rebuke of the potential 2012 GOP candidate for President of the United States, Joe Scarborough left nothing on the table. In an interview with he said,

“What man or mouse with a fully functioning human brain and a résumé as thin as Palin’s would flirt with a presidential run? It makes the political biography of Barack Obama look more like Winston Churchill’s.”

Scarborough then addressed Palin’s recent characterization of former President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush as out-of-touch “blue bloods”. He said,

“Perhaps her anger was understandable. After all, these disconnected “blue bloods” had nothing in their backgrounds that could ever make them understand “real America” like a former governor from Alaska who quit in the middle of her first term and then got rich. I suppose Palin’s harsh dismissal of this great man is more understandable after one reads her biography and realizes that, like Bush, she accomplished a great deal in her early 20s. Who wouldn’t agree that finishing third in the Miss Alaska beauty contest is every bit as treacherous as risking your life in military combat?”

Scarborough also described Sarah Palin’s potential quest for the Presidency as a “dopey dream”.

How will Palin react? The Vegas bookmakers have it at even odds that her first retort will be via either Facebook or Twitter. Perhaps she will dust-off her old one-liner from her disastrous 2008 Vice Presidential Debate wherein she so cleverly said to Biden, “Say it ain’t so, Joe”!

“Scarborough Fair” song link:

(sung to the Simon and Garfunkel song “Scarborough Fair”)

Now we’re talkin’, Joe Scarborough’s fair.
He was sage and thoughtful this time.
Of Sarah P., he laid the facts bare.
Electing her should be deemed a crime.

Scarborough dragged Palin right through the dirt.
(She is shallow and shrill bordering on obscene)
Sarah’s rage will explode this time.
(World –view is narrow, ignorance unbound)
She twits and tweets like a dumb jerk.
(Empress sans clothes just sneerin’ and poutin’)
Joe Scarborough nailed her this time.
(Sarah Palin will give him a call)

Joe says that Palin’s a mouse, not a man.
(A thin résumé, a failed beauty queen)
On the stage, she thinks she’s just fine.
(Watch her wave to all of her peers)
Truth be told, her script’s on her hands.
(Palin dreams and prays she’s “The Next One”)
Joe Scarborough thinks she is slime.

Her Twitter tweets are a fickle bellwether.
(Her anger blazing like rabid wild stallions)
Facebook rage will come in due time.
(Sarah will order her soldiers to kill)
But the seething mol can’t keep it together.
(Few will fight for a cause long forgotten)
Joe Scarborough beat her this time.

Now we’re talkin’, Joe Scarborough’s fair.
He was sage and thoughtful this time.
Of Sarah P., he laid the facts bare.
Electing her should be deemed a crime.

A Noun, A Verb and 9/11 in 2012?

Mr. 9/11

Add another crackpot to the 2012 Republican list of potential Presidential candidates. Despite his disastrous attempt at running for our nation’s highest office in 2008, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani says he hasn’t ruled out a second try in 2012. Yikes, we can possibly add him to a list of crazies that may include Mitt(wit) Romney, Tim (Good’n) Pawlenty, Bobby Jindel(Bells), Sarah “Death Panels” Palin, Newt “The Serial Philanderer” Gingrich and Mike Huckabee(Hound). What a bunch of rotten bananas.

“The door’s not closed,” Giuliani told Politico on Monday night when asked point-blank if he still has his eyes set on the White House.

This begs the question however, What will Giuliani talk about in the 2012 campaign season? Remember when during the 2008 race, then Delaware Sen. Joe Biden drew laughter and applause when he ridiculed the former New York City mayor during the debate at Drexel University? In response to Giuliani’s comments that no Democratic candidate has enough executive experience to lead, Biden called Giuliani “the most under-qualified man since George W. Bush to seek the presidency”? How about when Biden followed that up with, “There’s only three things he mentions in a sentence: a noun, and a verb and 9/11”? Ahh, those halcyon days of Rudy Giuliani and 9/11.

His Presidential run was a joke, but as the saying goes, “you can throw away the poop but not the stink”. Actually, we are not sure if that is truly a saying, but if it isn’t, it should be. Honestly though, Giuliani seems to pop up more than the pesky rodent in the “Whack-a-Mole” carnival midway game. Let’s hope he runs again, if for no other reason than for the laughs.

He can’t see his stupidity, his stupidity
He’s blind like Helen Keller

As he speaks watch the drool, that Rudy is a fool
All his friends on Wall Street think that he can’t be beat

He is a cliché machine all of the time he is
Scheming, signore
Scuzza me, but you see, he’s from the G.O.P.

(He just sits there and lies but to him we are wise
Giuliani) Giuliani!!!
(He appears in prime time and repeats his tired lines

(He was king ding-a-ling-a-ling, ding-a-ling-a-ling
And a wife cheating fella) Go to Hell, cheating fella
He can’t see his stupidity, his stupidity
He’s blind like Helen Keller) Sorry fella

He tells us of his dreams but his words have no
Meaning, signore
Scuzza me, Rudy G., but we hardly knew ye

G.O.P. Is Bailin’ On Palin

We will not know the actual results until all the votes are counted, but the consensus is that Republicans will pick up a lot of seats in today’s nationwide elections. The G.O.P. is expected to gain a majority in the House but they are likely to remain the minority in the Senate and the Democrats will continue to hold the Executive branch until at least 2012. So, despite all of the fanfare and cheerleading from conservative talk radio and Fox News, on Wednesday the Republicans will still be a minority power with no ability to advance any legislation such as the repeal of the new health care reform law or the financial regulation law.

Nevertheless, there appears to be a prevailing feeling of euphoria throughout the G.O.P. The Republican Party for the time being is one big mutual admiration society. As we speak, centrist Republicans like Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins and radical-fringe Tea-Baggers like Sharron Angle and Rand Paul are cohabiting nicely. Yet just beneath the surface of this strained love affair lurks an intra-party assassination plot. Yes, the G.O.P. leadership has already “reloaded” and has an unsuspecting target in their sights. Who is it? Who else but Sarah Palin!

In an article posted on the right-leaning yesterday, it is postulated that

“Top Republicans in Washington and in the national GOP establishment say the 2010 campaign highlighted an urgent task that they will begin in earnest as soon as the elections are over: Stop Sarah Palin.”

The article goes on to say, “There is rising expectation among GOP elites that Palin will probably run for president in 2012 and could win the Republican nomination, a prospect many of them regard as a disaster in waiting.”

“There is a determined, focused establishment effort … to find a candidate we can coalesce around who can beat Sarah Palin,” said one prominent and longtime Washington Republican. “We believe she could get the nomination, but Barack Obama would crush her.” The top advisors for most of the 2012 G.O.P. hopefuls told Politico that the candidates — as well as many establishment figures — are fixated on the topic of defeating Palin, especially on how to keep her from running or how to deny her the nomination if she does run.
The Politico article also says,
“In the wake of the 2008 presidential campaign, there was a widespread belief among Republican strategists and 2012 aspirants that the former Alaska governor was a colorful and energizing figure but not one who projected the authority, or even necessarily held the desire, to make a serious bid for the White House. This view gained credence after Palin resigned the Alaska governorship before finishing her first term.

But nonchalance has turned to alarm among party elites in 2010, as Palin repeatedly showed her clout among a key bloc of anti-establishment conservatives. Obviously relishing her role as a powerful force in GOP primaries, Palin made risky but decisive endorsements for Senate candidates such as Joe Miller in Alaska and Christine O’Donnell in Delaware, both of whom beat establishment favorites but in the process made those states less winnable for the GOP.”

This week an ABC News/Washington Post poll showed that only 39 percent of registered voters view Palin favorably and only 27 percent believe she is qualified to be president. Additionaly, nearly a majority of conservative Republicans think she is not qualified to be president. And interviews with some activists who admire Palin suggest that though they thrill in how she rubs establishment sensibilities the wrong way, this doesn’t necessarily translate to support for her candidacy.

Nevertheless, Politico contends that “The establishment-vs.-activists narrative is hardly novel in presidential primaries. What’s different this time is that the anti-establishment candidate — Palin — would enter with unmatched celebrity and media advantages, at a time when the establishment is weaker than it’s been in many years.” And, “The gathering presidential campaigns-in-waiting anticipate what amounts to two competing GOP primaries: one to win the backing of the party’s establishment, another to represent the tea party crowd. In past elections, voters of Iowa and New Hampshire have been resistant to highly partisan candidates, and GOP presidential nominees have historically gone to establishment-backed candidates over insurgents. Then again, that has also been true of GOP Senate primaries — which decidedly was not the case this past year.”

Politico goes on to describe that “Few, if any, Republican officials want to challenge Palin’s credentials in public, but most speak dismissively and condescendingly about her in private. They think she would kill Republican chances with independents and conservative Democrats frustrated with Obama’s expansive agenda. Many of these establishment figures argue in not-for-attribution comments that Palin’s nomination would ensure President Barack Obama’s reelection, as the deficiencies that marked her 2008 debut as a vice presidential nominee — an intensely polarizing political style and often halting and superficial answers when pressed on policy — have shown little sign of abating in the past two years.”
Isn’t it fun watching Republicans feed on their young?

Now Let’s get out there and Vote  for the Democratic Party!

Girls Talk song link:

(sung to the Dave Edmunds song “Girls Talk”)

There are some things she can’t cover up with lipstick and powder
Everything she says is just the same but the volume gets louder
Hope she comes no closer, hope she comes no nearer
My opinion of her can’t get any clearer
Oh, I don’t wanna hear her talk
Palin has flights of imagination inspired by her talk
But she won’t say the words I want to hear
“I promise everyone I’ll run for Prez next year”
Next year

Oh, wow!

Her talk is so very damn loud
Her talk simply shouldn’t be allowed
She talks about Sixpack Joe
Don’t you think that I know by now?

That the words that come from Sarah’s lips
Prove that she’s medicated
Sarah Palin is the type of girl
That needs to be sedated
“Death panels” and murder,
Her lies never-ending
Lately I have heard she is Beck’s fibbing friend

Her talk is so very damn loud
Her talk simply shouldn’t be allowed
Her talk resembles a mean snarl
Her talk is just a planned show
For the “Party of No”
Oh wow1

Why won’t she say the words I wanna hear?
“I promise everyone I’ll run for Prez next year”
Please, dear

There are some things she can’t cover up with lipstick and powder
Everything she says is just the same but the volume gets louder
But I don’t suppose her words could be much clearer
If you don’t obey, then you better fear her
Her talk
Emanating from this cow
Her talk.

Palin Popularity Plummets (Again)

It's Time To Reload Not Retreat

For those of you that missed the results of the most recent Politico poll, never fear. Lynnrockets is here to dissect and analyze and the diagnosis is not promising for a Sarah Palin Presidential bid in 2012. Buried deep in the aforementioned poll was this:

Thinking one last time about Sarah Palin…
As you may already know, Sarah Palin has been the Governor of Alaska and was the Republican nominee for Vice President in 208. She resigned from her position as Governor in 2009 and currently runs a political action committee and works as a news commentator for Fox News.

25. Based on what you know, would you say that Sarah Palin’s efforts since resigning as Governor in 2009 have made you more likely or less likely to support her if she runs for President?

More likely/strongly…………………………………………17%
And is that strongly or More likely/somewhat………………………………………14%
somewhat (more likely/ UNSURE (DNR)………………………………………………5%
less likely)? NO DIFFERENCE (DNR)…………………………………7%
Less likely/somewhat……………………………………….13%
Less likely/strongly………………………………………….45%

Do the math and you will see that since the half-term former Governor of Alaska quit her elected position in July of 2009, a whopping 58% of people are less likely to vote for her as President.

This means that despite the fact that Palin has elevated her status as a celebrity via her Facebook and Twitter rantings, and has captured the throne as Queen of the Tea Party movement, she has actually decreased her own chances of a future electoral victory. In short, Sarah Palin has fudged it up again.

Pump It Up song link:

(sung to the Elvis Costello song “Pump It Up”)

Palin’s losing her looks
She’s into banning books
Time to face the music
Shilling for “Arctic Cat”
She’s a moonbat
Blew the race for Johnny Mac
Was the Guv but then she quit
And left the state fast

Fudge it up. Too bad she couldn’t see it.
Fudge it up. Now she can’t conceal it.

She’s so far right of center
Hell bent, not Heaven sent
Listen to her propaganda
Listen to her latest slander
Palin don’t understand
All her moves are underhand

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

She is a dumb girl
She makes us wanna hurl
Like Lorena Bobbitt
Sarah’s psychotic
When she’s on a book tour
She dresses like a whore
In those clothes Mac bought for her
A tea-bagging gal for sure

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

In the “Party of No”
Palin will never win
Soon they will kick her out
With all her inbred kin
Her “Death Panel” mission
Beat into submission
Her conical hat is made out of tin

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

Palin should beat it
Palin should beat it
Palin should beat it.

Sunday Morning Coffee (or Tea) – 17

BREAKING NEWS:  Is it a surprise to anyone that a “sex tape” has emerged starring former Ms. California, Carrie Jean Prejean? Apparently in her perfect world, marriage is a sacred institution between a woman and her sex toy. Like the other beauty pageant runner-up, the former ex-quitting governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, everything she touches turns to crap. Then again, the sex tape indicates that Prejean may have a promising solo career. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more.

THIS JUST IN: In light of Glenn Beck’s recent emergency appendectomy, would it be fair to say that now Glenn Beck is also sick of Glenn Beck? Also, too (as Sarah Palin would say) is he worried about being cared for by those thuggish SEIU nurses?

BREAKING NEWS:  Michele Bachmann (R – Nutsville) said on CNN’s American Morning this week that Democrats have forgotten the lessons from the contentious town hall meetings this August in which angry conservatives criticized health care reform. She also said,

I think what we’re going to see is the town hall coming to Washington, D.C., just to remind members of Congress [that] we’re the ones we would like you to pay attention to, not lobbyists. And we don’t want the government to own our health care

Just wondering, but don’t the lobbyists represent the private health insurers and not a proposed government run public option? Why does Bachmann accuse the Democrats of siding with the lobbyists when they are seeking to create a not for profit public program? Methinks the crazy one is confused. Again.

THIS JUST IN: Christmas shopping will be a lot less expensive this year than originally thought. Newsmax has just slashed the price of Sarah Palin’s soon to be released memoir, Going Rogue to $ 4.97. That’s right, you can now enjoy a comic read over the holidays and then kindle your fireplace for less than the price of a gallon of eggnog.

BREAKING NEWS: Michele Bachmann’s (R – Mars) Chief of Staff, Michele Marston has announced that she is quitting her job. She has refused to give an explanation as to her reasons for leaving however, POLITICO reports that a conservative Republican House member, speaking on the condition of anonymity, has said, “When your captain’s crazy, it’s time to find a new ship.” Were truer words ever spoken?

THIS JUST IN: The most recent USA Today/Gallup survey released November 5th contains more troubling news for the political future of the former ex-quitting governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. the poll reveals that only one in three Americans would seriously consider voting for Palin in the 2012 presidential election. Is that the fat lady that we can hear singing?

BREAKING NEWS:  Last night the House of Representatives passed its version of a health care reform bill by a vote of 220 to 215. It is a bi-partisan bill because one Republican, Joseph Cao of Louisiana voted in favor of its passage. The bill includes a public option as well as prohibitions against insurance denial for pre-existing conditions and it prohibits increased premiums based on medical condition or gender. Not unexpectedly, the House Republicans stood silent and teary eyed as the votes were counted. Today they will lick their their wounds at a tea party at the home of John Boehner (pronounced, “boner”).

THIS JUST IN: Speaking of John Boehner (pronounced, “boner”), did anyone hear him at Michele Bachmann’s (R- La La Land) Teabagger Protest at the Capitol this week? He held up a copy of what was purportedly the United States Constitution and began reciting it to the meager crowd in attendance. Problem is, the words in his recital were from the Declaration of Independence and not the Constitution. These Republicans are pure and simple uneducated buffoons.

BREAKING NEWS:  Former ex-quitting governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin will be the Republican speaker at this year’s Gridiron Club and Foundation’s winter dinner. The dinner is organized by the group which is comprised of journalists from around the nation. Will Palin have the guts to tell them to their faces, “quit making stuff up”? Probably not, inasmuch as the dinner is scheduled a few weeks after the release of Palin’s ghostwritten memoir which is sure to contain a lot of made-up stuff. I wonder if these journalists will be allowed to record, take notes or comment upon Palin’s speech at their own function. By the way, the Democratic Party speaker will be Barney Frank of Massachusetts. hopefully, he will speak second so that the eloquent and sharp tongued orator can comment upon whatever Palin had to say. Keep your fingers crossed.

Now it is time for today’s Sarah Palin song parody. In honor of the troops, please click on the song link below to familiarize yourselves with the tune and to have more fun singing along.

Born To Run song link:

(sung to the Bruce Springsteen song “Born To Run”)

In the day she sweats it out on the streets, she’s a runner-up beauty pageant queen
At night she tears her hair out in worry atop Todd’s snow-machine
Hate filled rages at the five and dime
High heeled, misdirected and sporting a sixties beehive, Whoa
Wasilla town hopes she never comes back
She’s a dumb quack, a political hack
Sarah speaketh with a forked tongue
But tramps like her, baby they were born to run
(yes she will run)

Sarah’s got thin skin but she’ll run again
She can’t find work on television
SarahPAC will cater to her whims
Their dedicated to her mission
Together they will dish out crap
She’ll run till she drops, maybe from a heart attack, Whoa
All her friends, she’ll continue to hire
‘cause baby she wants to be the next “Decider”
But her wagon has lost all its wheels
She behaves like a little child girl, a pitbull refusing to heel
(full of baloney)

(instrumental interlude)

She’s filled with malice right down to the bones buried in her backyard
She casts no reflection in brand new mirrors
Like a vampire caught off guard
Her unfeeling heart, rises cold and dark
A dominatrix with an iron fist
She’s gonna try to befriend thee in the deep dark night
With a wink and a blown kiss, Huhh

(another instrumental)

(one two three four…)

She’s got a bunch of Fox News zeroes that fuel her hopes and drive
Sarah Palin likes you if you are white and have no use for gay pride
Every Wednesday she will give an address
That will reveal all the madness in her soul, Whoa
Someday girl, we don’t know when, you’ll learn that you’re a disgrace
Something we already know, her career will be done
But till then just like puss, Sarah will return to run

Oh, Sarah just like puss, baby we hope that you run

Please believe me, all of us baby, sure hope that you will run

Sarah Palin: The Devil In Disguise

Sarah Palin's official portrait at Alaska's Governors Mansion

Sarah Palin, the scheduling-challenged diva, has propelled herself into another speaking engagement controversy. This time it is with the conservative group known as The Iowa Family Policy Center. You may recall a few weeks ago when the Palin camp referred to this group as one of the future beneficiaries of the ex former-quitting governor’s speaking prowess. Well, as usual, not so fast. Once again a disagreement between the event organizers and the Palin crew has cast a dark shadow over the event such that Miss Quittypants may pull another no-show.

The Politico reports that, “The Iowa Family Policy Center’s effort to cobble together $100,000 for Palin would represent a striking departure from customary practice in the first-in-the-nation state, these Republicans say, noting that a generation of White House hopefuls has paid their own way to boost their party and presidential ambitions.” Other conservative groups are also unnerved at the prospect of paying a potential future candidate for something that should be considered a privilege. the Politico quotes the following:

“If somebody tells me they want me to pay an appearance fee, it tells me they’re not very serious about running for president,” said Ed Failor, Jr., president of Iowans for Tax Relief and an influential GOP insider.

Also, Steve Scheffler, the president of the Iowa Christian Alliance and a longtime GOP activist, said his organization would also never ante up. We certainly wouldn’t do it, even if we had the money,” Scheffler said, adding that he wanted to keep his group “impartial” in the caucus process and that paying money to one prospective candidate could raise questions about such neutrality.

The brouhaha appears to have caused some backtracking and/or revisionist history with both the sponsoring group and the Palin camp. It has been reported that at the request of the Iowa Family Policy Center, Team Sarah, a national pro-Palin organization not formally connected to the former governor, has begun raising money among its members in an effort to collect the $100,000. However, when an officer of The Iowa Family Policy Center was asked about the fee controversy, he said that he was, “not personally aware of a speaker’s fee” and “There may or may not be, I don’t know.”

Next, Palin spokeswoman, Meg Stapleton told Newsweek:

that Palin “has not requested anything” and that she “does not charge people to campaign for them.” According to Stapleton, Palin would instead cover such travel costs through her political-action committee, SarahPAC.

Not unexpectedly however, the Palin bunch then called the whole appearence into question by saying,

We don’t believe she will be able to attend with her tightly scheduled book tour, and the group has been told that through formal and informal channels.

What is with this bunch of clowns and their inability to do anything on the straight and narrow. It is a sure bet that anytime a Palin engagement is announced, there will be some sort of snafu that emerges which calls the event into question. Sarah Palin simply could not schedule a beauty parlor appointment without complications. She and her camp are scatterbrained dimwits of the first degree.

Some might say that she is a “little devil.”

Devil In Her Heart song link:

(sung to the Beatles song “Devil In Her Heart”)

She’s got the devil in her heart
But the rednecks fantasize
That Palin is a sleazy tart
But her politics just chill me

Her smirking glances
Vocal dances
She’s an ignorant pig
She’s just so flirty
Politics dirty
She’s a wicked entity

She’s got the devil in her heart
And some tricks are up her sleeve
Palin’s a dime store work of art
A web of lies she will weave

I’ll bet she leaves that Alaskan winter snow
She’ll board a bus to be with Plumber Joe
Palin is quirky
Her future’s murky
Like the G.O.P.’s

She’s got the devil in her heart
I know, know, know Palin will deceive
Next she’ll be working at K-Mart
Cuz today she is naïve

Sarah’s stance is to raise finances
From her writing debut
She’s just as perky
As fresh killed turkey
As we witnessed on TV

She’s got the devil in her heart
I know, know, know  and I do believe
She fell right off the donkey cart
Sarah should be on sick leave

She’s got the devil in her heart
And she’s no angel we can see
She’s got the devil in her heart
No, she’s no angel we can see
