Sarah Palin’s Journalism Degree Is Worthless

We now know why it took Sarah Palin 5 colleges and 6 years to finally attain a lowly bachelor’s degree in journalism. The degree is worthless.

Palin first attended Hawaii Pacific University in its business administration program, but left because, as her father Chuck Heath says, the presence of so many Asians and Pacific Islanders made her uncomfortable: “They were a minority type thing and it wasn’t glamorous, so she came home”.  She next went to a two-year school known as North Idaho College but lasted only two semesters as a “General Studies Major”. She then transferred for her first stint at the University of Idaho. She lasted one year before leaving and matriculating at another two-year school known as Matanuska-Susitna College in Alaska. She left and returned to the University of Idaho for her second stint. While finally majoring in “Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast News, at the University of Idaho, it does not appear that she worked for either the college newspaper or television station. She earned her degree from that 153rd ranked (U.S. News and World Report) safety school which accepts nearly 80% of its applicants in 1987.

Sarah Palin’s journalistic ignorance was revealed (once again) this week. She made a lavish self-promoting appearance at the Iowa State Fair as a stop on her political action committee-funded sham of a private family vacation. By the way,  she actually gave her vacation a name: “The One Nation Tour”. She is also discreetly traveling in a luxury dreamliner-coach shrink-wrapped in a giant version of the U.S. Constitution. Although Palin claims that her vacation was pre-planned and has nothing to do with politics, she coincidentally showed up at the Iowa Fair at the same time that the GOP presidential candidates were in attendance and on the very weekend during which the Ames Straw Poll is conducted. This is very much like the strange coincidence which occurred during the first leg of her family vacation in May when she just happened to be in New Hampshire on the very day that Mitt Romney announced his bid for the Republican nomination in that state.

But we digress. While at the Fair, Palin took the opportunity to once again blast the “lamestream” media for misreporting. Politico reports, that while talking to many media members (as most of us do on our “private” family vacations) she called out a Daily Caller reporter to complain about a headline she felt suggested she was open to supporting Mitt Romney. Palin said,

“So you’re saying that I said that I support Mitt Romney?” she said to the reporter. “And what’s your headline? You need to be clear, otherwise people really lose faith in the state of journalists today and that is, I said ‘ABO’—anybody but Obama. And I would support the candidate who surfaces to take on Barack Obama. But no, your headline leads readers to believe that I’m supporting Mitt Romney at this time in this process, and no that’s not accurate.”

That would be a very fair criticism by Palin. If it were true. Unfortunately for Palin and our perception of her journalistic skills, it is not true. In fact, the Daily Caller responded as follows:

“Anyone who goes to our homepage will see a headline that has been up the whole time and reads: Palin’s Pick – ‘Anybody but Obama’ and the story itself has a headline that reads: Palin at Iowa State Fair: I’m still undecided on 2012. The headline Palin is referring to and so concerned about doesn’t actually exist on our site or on the story.”

The headline that irked Palin does however exist somewhere. Anybody care to guess where? Where else but on the Fox News online version of the story. Is anyone surprised  that Fox News would misinform its audience with a misleading headline? Is anyone surprised that rather than investigate the matter to determine actual facts, Sarah Palin simply elected to buy into the Fox News misinformation?

This is just another reason why Sarah Palin’s journalism degree is not worth the paper it is printed on.

FUDGE IT UP

(sung to the Elvis Costello song “Pump It Up”)

Palin’s losing her looks
She’s into banning books
Time to face the music
Shilling for “Arctic Cat”
She’s a moonbat
Blew the race for Johnny Mac
Was the Guv but then she quit
And left the state fast

Fudge it up. Too bad she couldn’t see it.
Fudge it up. Now she can’t conceal it.

She’s so far right of center
Hell bent, not Heaven sent
Listen to her propaganda
Listen to her latest slander
Palin don’t understand
All her moves are underhand

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

Hey!

She is a dumb girl
She makes us wanna hurl
Like Lorena Bobbitt
Sarah’s psychotic
When she’s on a book tour
She dresses like a whore
In those clothes Mac bought for her
A tea-bagging gal for sure

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

In the “Party of No”
Palin will never win
Soon they will kick her out
With all her inbred kin
Her “Death Panel” mission
Beat into submission
Her conical hat is made out of tin

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

Fudge it up. Now she has revealed it.
Fudge it up. A wound but she can’t heal it.

Palin should beat it
Palin should beat it
Palin should beat it.

The Palin PAC-Funded Hoax Of A Family Vacation Resumes

Here we go again!

The nation’s biggest self-promoter is up to her old tricks. After a two month break, Sarah Palin will back the shrink-wrapped Dreamliner out of her Wasilla, Alaska garage and resume her phoney family vacation bus tour this week. She has even given her faux family holiday a name: the “One Nation” tour. Honestly, what sane family shrinkwraps the minivan and gives their drive to the Poconos or Cape Cod a name of its very own?

So as to make it absolutely clear that the tour is really just a family vacation and not a politically-driven sideshow designed to highlight her profile, Sarah Palin has elected to steer well clear of political hotspots. Consequently, she is kicking off her tour in the sleepy heartland state of Iowa. What’s that? The Palins will be camping just south of where the Republican presidential candidates will be conducting a presidential debate on Thursday? Say again? The first in the nation Ames Straw Poll will be held in Iowa this weekend? Pure coincidence!

CNN reports that “it appears the bus will also take Palin to Missouri and Illinois to visit the respective hometowns of former presidents Harry Truman and Ronald Reagan”. Hmm, they were presidents too. There seems to be a theme developing here. Didn’t the former ex-quitting half-term Governor of Alaska contemplate running for president about a million times during every one of her Fox News political ads, er I mean guest appearances since 2008? Again, pure coincidence.

There is no reason to doubt Sarah Palin’s sincerity when she announced in a nationwide email to millions of her closest friends,

“The heartland is perfect territory for more of the One Nation Tour as we put forth efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America by highlighting our nation’s heart, history, and founding principles.”

After all, don’t we all “put forth efforts to revitalize the fundamental restoration of America” when we pack-up Grandma and the dog and head to the beach house for a few weeks? Think of the Palin trip as a piece of Americana like that 1970s Brady Bunch episode in which the whole clan went to the Grand Canyon.

We can only hope.

Another positive to the vacation is that perhaps the under-educated Palin and her family will learn a little something about American history. The highlight of the opening act of The Palin Family Traveling Circus last May was undoubtedly when Sarah learned that Paul Revere was ringing bells and firing warning shots to the British to warn them that the British were coming during his famous “Midnight Ride.” You just cannot learn that stuff by reading those liberally-biased history books. Just ask Michele Bachmann who will tell you that the famous “Shot Heard Round The World” was fired from Concord, New Hampshire and not Concord, Massachusetts.

You must be thinking that this vacation will cost the poor Palins a fortune. Imagine the financial pressure of driving a huge luxury cruise-liner across the United States with gas prices being what they are and all. Well don’t worry. You see, Palin’s political action committee SarahPAC will foot the bill once again adding to the $20,000.00 it paid for the first leg of the vacation. The Palin family will not have to pay a penny. If you would like to contribute so as not to delete the pac’s precious resources, you can do so by means of the vacation fundraising drive taking place at SarahPAC’s website right now.

Will Sarah Palin actually have the guts on this tour to declare whether or not she intends to jump into the presidential race? Don’t count on it. She is too busy being a simple vacationing hockey-mom.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

(sung to the Willie Nelson song “On The Road Again”)

On the road again –
Sarah can’t wait to get on the road again
The life she loves is taking money from her friends
Palin can’t wait to get on the road again

On the road again –
Goin’ places that she’s never been
She denies that she’s campaigning once again
But she’s stealing dough from all her brain-dead friends

On the road again –
Like a band of gypsies, Palins ride the highways
Grifting never ends
Persisting like a plague that’s coming our way, yes our way

On the road again –
She says its great to just “reload” again
Good Lord above will Palin’s grifting never end?
Sarah can’t wait to get on the road again

(Fox News love-in break)

On the road again –
Just those Palin pip-squeaks always talking sideways
Every word offends
Insisting that the world keep turning their way, yes their way

She’s on the road again –
Palin can’t wait to get on the road again
The life she loves is taking money from her friends
And she can’t wait to get on the road again
And she can’t wait to get on the road again

Palin’s On The Road Again

Palin's final tour.

Is the Granny Grifter off and running? Could be. On Tuesday we learned of her feature-length propaganda film. Now, just yesterday we learned of her nationwide tour, beginning this weekend in the nation’s capital and taking her to a series of cities along the East Coast and ending in the first primary state, New Hampshire.

Sarah Palin said, “As we look to the future, we are propelled by America’s past. It’s imperative that we connect with our founders, our patriots, our challenges and victories to clearly see our way forward. A good way to do this is to appreciate the significance of our nation’s historic sites, patriotic events and diverse cultures, which we’ll do in the coming weeks on our ‘One Nation’ tour. ” As usual however, the former ex-quitting half-term governor’s statement provided nothing in the realm of actual policy positions or plans.

It is this scribe’s opinion that Palin will not actually run for the Presidency. Her tabloid lifestyle, abrasive personality, safety school education, inability to coherently articulate her policy positions and outright lying make her an undesirable candidate. Adding all of that to the fact that she is persona non grata within the Republican Party and would be a laughing-stock at GOP primary debates, means that Sarah Palin is simply unelectable.

This nationwide tour may simply prove to be Palin’s “last hurrah”. Time is running out on her stalling to make a definitive decision about launching an election campaign and she knows it. The drop-dead time by which a candidate can commence a viable campaign is June or July of this year and Palin is using this charade of a publicity stunt in an attempt to stay relevant and marketable until her inevitable decision to fold. Her 15 minutes are nearly over.
