Oh God III, The Glenn Beck Story

Kommandant Beck

Glenn Beck is fast becoming as big a moron as Sarah Palin. He lives in an alternative universe where fact is fiction, right is wrong, up is down and sanity is insanity. That universe is known as Fox World. It is also inhabited by such crazies as Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and most recently, the aforementioned Sarah Palin. Beck however, possesses every single sought after qualification for citizenship in Fox World. Drug and alcohol addiction? Check. Multiple marriages? Check. Little to no higher education? Check. A perfect Fox World citizen.

In an attempt to shore up his credentials, Beck really stepped in the pile of stupidity yesterday. After having realized that every single one of his arguments against health care reform has been slapped down by a review of the bill and the facts, he has now resorted to saying that the vote on the bill is “an affront to God”. Here is what he said in more detail:

Faith has been perverted. They are going to vote for this damn thing on a Sunday, which is the Sabbath, during Lent. Here is a group of people that have so perverted our faith and our hope and our charity, that is a — this is an affront to God.

So, let’s get this straight. The Sunday passage of a law that will provide health care coverage to thirty million more people so that they do not have to suffer or die from lack of medical services is “an affront to God”? God considers it an insult to save lives? Who knew? Apparently not Jesus who is quoted as having said that healing can be performed on the sabbath. Isn’t providing health care to the uninsured a form of healing? One would think so. Furthermore, why has Beck discounted the fact that many Americans subscribe to religions that do not celebrate the sabbath on Sunday. Finally, where was Beck’s outrage in 2005 when the Republican Congress voted on Palm Sunday to pass a law that would allow the Senate to intervene in the Terri Schiavo case? Apparently, in Fox World, only the actions of Democrats are an affront to God.

(sung to the Beatles song, “The Fool On The Hill”)

Day after day
He gives us a chill
Glenn Beck is crying again
Let’s watch his eyes start to fill

And nobody wants to know him
They can see that he’s just a fool
And he has not one good answer
Beck’s the fool who knows nil

Nita Dunn took him down
And Glenn’s face grew bright red
As his head spins around

Glenn’s head today,
Filled up with sound
Beck’s head hears a thousand voices
Screaming nonsense so loud

Everybody wants to jeer him
For the weeping that he does fake
Yet Glenn never seems to notice
Beck’s the fool who knows nil

He’s a dim-witted clown
In need of some strong meds
Beck’s off to crazy-town

(musical interlude)

And nobody seems to like him
It looks like he’s back on the booze
Or maybe he’s back drug dealing
Beck’s the fool who knows nil

He’s beginning to drown
And his sponsors have fled
Soon he’ll be not around

Oh, round, an’ round, an’ round, an’ round, an’ round
Nobody listens to him
They know that he’s a fool
They don’t like him
The fool who knows nil

He’s beginning to drown
And his sponsors have fled
Soon he’ll be not around

Oh, round, an’ round, an’ round, an’ round
Oh …

  1. That Terri Schiavo episode was one of the worst in US history, imo. Completely horrifying that the Congress would have been so involved in one family’s personal dispute.

  2. Death Panels

Terri Schiavo? Republican pandering to pro-lifers! An electoral ploy to remain in power …. and continue to ignore the 45000 Americans who die every year for lack of healthcare. Let God worry about them!

However, we will avenge those who died on 9/11. That was a direct assault on our “way of life”. The untold thousands of Iraqis (who’s counting?) who died as a consequence? Sorry, buddies-life is cheap!

  3. Stupak throws nuns under the bus! (Such violence!)

Congressman Bart Stupak, D-Mich, responded sharply to White House officials touting a letter representing 59,000nuns that was sent to lawmakers urging them to pass the health care bill.

The conservative Democrat dismissed the action by the White House saying, “When I’m drafting right to life language, I don’t call up the nuns.” He says he instead confers with other groups including “leading bishops, Focus on the Family, and The National Right to Life Committee.”
