Poorly Educated Palin Pontificates On Law

The “thing that wouldn’t shut up” has reared its ugly head once again. Yesterday, Sarah Palin decided to share her thoughts on the legal means used to prosecute Umar Farouk  Abdulmutallab, the would be plane bomber. She was highly critical of the Obama administration’s decision to try Abdulmutallab in the federal court system rather than by means of a military tribunal. Think about that for a moment. The former ex-quitting governor of Alaska feels qualified to offer advice on constitutional law to a President that was a constitutional law professor at one of the nation’s most highly regarded law schools. This is the same woman that matriculated in 5 different inferiorly ranked colleges in 6 years before she could manage to obtain a mere bachelor’s degree in journalism, yet she feels qualified to speak about law. CBS News reports that this is what she said on Facebook about President Barack Obama:

“his fundamental approach to terrorism is fatally flawed” and that “the real nature of the terrorist threat requires a commander-in-chief, not a constitutional law professor.”

The educationally challenged Palin went on to say,

“It simply makes no sense to treat an al Qaeda-trained operative willing to die in the course of massacring hundreds of people as a common criminal. Reports indicate that Abdulmutallab stated there were many more like him in Yemen but that he stopped talking once he was read his Miranda rights. President Obama’s advisers lamely claim Abdulmutallab might be willing to agree to a plea bargain – pretty doubtful you can cut a deal with a suicide bomber.”

First of all, how on God’s green earth does Palin claim to know that Abdulmutallab “stopped talking once he was read his Miranda rights”? Indeed , all published reports indicate that the bomber was quite forthcoming with information regarding his plans and those of his associates. Also, too, the information obtained from him will be admissible in a court of law because it was not obtained illegally by means of torture. Furthermore, exactly what type of legal insight does Palin claim to possess which would substantiate her claim that you can’t plea bargain with a suicide bomber? Of course she also failed to address  the fact that the Bush administration prosecuted “shoe bomber” Richard Reid, an al Qaeda operative, in civilian court where he provided information, and he is now serving a life term in maximum-security prison. Where was her criticism then?

Honestly, Sarah darlin’, that’s all very interesting. Now run along because educated adults are trying to run the country.

In honor of the troops, please remember to click on the song link below to familiarize yourselves with the tune and to have more fun singing along with today’s song parody.

THINGS SHE SAID TODAY

(sung to the Beatles song “Things We Said Today”)

Thinking of Sarah P.
Up there in the snow
Thinking she’s “mavericky”
Little does she know

Somedays when I’m lonely
Pining for old Tina Fey
Then I will remember
Things she said today

She’s not a refined girl
Disgraced in prime time
And she’s not a kind girl
She wallows in the slime

Her words have no meaning
But she sure has a lot to say
It’s fun to remember
Things she said today

She has such a simple mind
With nothing to say that isn’t fluff
Nonetheless she is inclined
To just have her way by talking tough

Yet she’s a blind girl
She’s a phony one
Despised and maligned girl
She will soon be gone

Ego that needs weaning
Lacking in the skill of word play
She cannot remember
Things she said today

She had lots of books to sign
What were her supporters thinking of?
Did they feel left behind
When she went away and had enough

Of being kind, girl
She said she was done
Let them wait in line girl
Take your cash and run

Someday when she’s scheming
Hand in glove of her next pay-day
Will Palin remember
Things she said today?

  1. She’s trying to justify torture.
She has no confidence in our legal system.

It was interesting in the 1st two sentences that she criticized the President for meeting with national security people for what she claims he thinks is a law enforcement problem. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. For her own good she should “sit down and shut up.”

  2. She gives women a bad name. I’m waiting for Karma to get her, and there are many reasons for it to get her. Patience is not an easy thing for me, though. Thank goodness for the parody and satire.

  3. Dear Abby

Palin’s charade of posting Facebook comments parroting the received opposition opinion-in this case, Cheney’s paranoid ramblings-is becoming increasingly annoying and irrelevant.

On Laura Ingraham’s radio show, Palin was prodded into debating Al Gore on global warming, and had no choice but to beg out for fear of being “clobbered”. The whole thing is just too silly!

    • I would love to see her make a fool of herself in a debate with Gore.

      • “All totalitarian regimes are hollow at the core…and will fall with a shove from the outside.” Michael Meyer of Newsweek

I’m guessing the shove from the outside will happen before any debate involving Al Gore.

  4. Of course we know that Sarah didn’t write this FB entry. That’s what makes it so fun for me. She signs her name to “whatever” someone puts in front of her. Of course she can’t argue a single point if someone shoved a microphone in front of her mouth. She is clue….less. But she doesn’t worry about that…she is “going rogue” and criticizing the President of the US. Nonny, nonny, boo boo.
