Bloggers And The Blogging Bloggers Who Blog Them

OK, we could not wait any longer before commenting on this one.

This past weekend an un-named blogger broke a story about an un-named female former politician. The story was a good one and we hope it proves to be true, but until we can be certain of its veracity, all names will be changed to protect the innocent (and we use that term loosely).

It seems that said former female politician from a northern (and we mean really northern, wink, wink) state may be having marital problems. We were also informed by said un-named blogger that the un-named spouse of the un-named former politician may have pulled a gun on the un-named teenaged father of the un-named couple’s un-named pregnant teenaged daughter. It was also reported that that the un-named former politician may have illegally obstructed the prosecution of the un-named teenaged father’s un-named mother in her pending drug case. Finally, upon learning that the above stories were posted on the un-named blogger’s un-named blog, the un-named former politician instructed her un-named personal attorney to send a cease and desist letter to the un-named blogger and to threaten to have him served with a summons and complaint at the un-named bloggers place of employment, his kindergarten class.

Got it? Good. We will keep you updated as things progress and become even more clear.

Please click on the song link below to have more fun singing along.

Please Mr. Postman song link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cxSAh-LFAM

MR. VAN FLEIN

(sung to The Beatles version of the song “Please, Mr. Postman”)

Wait, oh yes wait a minute mister postman
Wait, wait mister postman

Mister postman look and see
You got a summons in your bag for me?
I been waiting such a long time
Since I heard from Thomas Van Flein

There must be some word today
From Ms. Palin’s own attorney
Please mister postman look and see
If there’s a summons, to be served on me
I been blogging and waiting mister postman
So patiently
For just a call. I got his letter

Saying that he would be suing me

Please mister postman look and see
If there’s a summons in your bag for me
I’ve been waitin’ for Thomas Van Flein
To prove to me that he has a spine

Wants to serve me in class this time
For what she considers a crime
Kindergarten Cop makes her feel better
Palin will learn I’m not a bed wetter

Sarah Palin look at me
You shouldn’t hang out your dirty laundry
I’ll report it in my due time
Go tell that to Thomas Van Flein

You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
Wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
Check it and see, one more time for me

You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
Wait a minute, wait a minute
Mister postman
Deliver the letter, the sooner the better

You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
Wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
You gotta wait a minute, wait a minute
(repeat to fade)

  1. I’m glad you changed the names to protct the guilty. There’s a book in here about what not to do to a political brand (the anti J and J Tylenol example).

I’m glad the Wicked Witch hasn’t read that book.

  2. Ms. nswfm CA, your wit and wisdom never cease to entertain.

  3. Lynnrockets, I am in awe of your talent and the speed of your creativity.

  4. She’s one of the MRSA’s of pop culture and will never be taken seriously for anything other than being a brainless, but vindictive, bimbo. Sorry, it had to be said. JMO

  5. What exactly is your objective with a post like this? Is your intention to spread rumors? Perhaps because you no longer have a public source of information for your seemingly insatiable appetite, you have to turn to observations about formerly un-named bloggers’ and their rumors?

But my most important question for you is this: why do you “hope” for sadness and tragedy in someone’s life? I had thought opposition to politicians was based on political viewpoints, but now that there is no politician in office, why do you continue with this sort of eagerness for evil to befall her? Did she do something to hurt you personally?

    • Allow me to answer your question by directing your attention to the sub-title of this blog. You can find it right up there at the top of the page beneath the words “Lynnrockets’ Blast-Off.” It says, ” A space for political comment and satire with a liberal slant.” Get it? Political satire with a liberal slant. You might also want to check out the About/Contact page which says the same thing in a little more depth.

I have never met Sarah Palin personally and I venture to guess that if I had done so in our younger years (we are about the same age) we may have been close to friendly. We both seem to be outgoing and sports minded. Nevertheless (like a few other of my college and graduate school friends), once she enters the political world where her policy decisions can affect the country and me, I will do what I can to make sure she does not succeed if her policies are contrary and damaging to what I believe.

Although she does not presently hold elective office, she has not stated that she will not seek office again. Hence, I must assume that she still nurtures the possibility. Additionally, she has stated that she intends to travel the country in support of like minded politicians. Those like minded politicians are also an anathema to me. Consequently, I have chosen to do what I can to stifle her effectiveness. Think of Rush Limbaugh saying, “I hope the President fails.” Get it?

One way in which I can help prevent her from having any political capital or influence is to point out her shortcomings. This is a tactic used quite frequently by people like Sarah Palin when they say things like “pallin’ around with terrorists” or belittling community organizing (thank goodness the voters saw through those two feeble attempts). A person’s personal actions and shortcomings often provide a good indication of how they might perform in public office. In Palin’s case, I (and many, many, many others) see a person that did not truly value education In fact she valued education even less than she valued her governorship of Alaska. She quit the Governorship only once. She quit college four times. You see, her tendency to quit in private life (school) carried through to her public life (the governorship). Would she simply quit at the national level when the going got tough? History says, “Yes.”

As for her family situation, I simply direct your attention to any episode of the Beverly Hillbillies. Would you want any one of that cast of characters influencing public policy?

  6. Wishing a politician to fail in implementing his announced policies of say universal healthcare is a far cry from wishing his wife will divorce him and all the consequent pain that would cause his family. Arguing that universal healthcare is wrong-headed from a free market or capitalist perspective is is entirely different from attacking the President’s family with rumors. Moreover, I have never once heard Rush Limbaugh wish personal pain and anguish on the President or his family and there probably couldn’t be a more vigorous opponent of the President’s policies than Rush Limbaugh.

Also, sure certain personal failures of a politician or candidate are legitimate to bring up. That is part of the tough road of being a candidate who holds or wants to hold the public trust. But does that mean you actually HOPE a candidate has such failures or HOPE that their family will suffer the cruelty of divorce? I think you end of damaging yourself by wishing personal ruin upon others. Such an attitude is not consistent with charity or kindess.

What’s more is you cannot compare known personal failures with rumors and insinuation about the same. You might as just as well start your own rumor about the Governor because it seems you have no limit at all on what is a fair or proper “tactic” as you put it.

Or put another way, is there anything you won’t say or write in your blog to damage the Governor because you think it is too extreme?

    • Do you know who said these things?

“He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He’s moving all around and shaking and it’s purely an act. … This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn’t take his medication or he’s acting.” –on an ad by Michael J. Fox endorsing Claire McCaskill for Senate for supporting embryonic stem cell research

“Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society.”

“We’re not sexists, we’re chauvinists — we’re male chauvinist pigs, and we’re happy to be because we think that’s what men were destined to be. We think that’s what women want.”

“She sounds like a screeching ex-wife.” –on Sen. Hillary Clinton

“Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.” (to a female, African-American caller)

“You know who deserves a posthumous Medal of Honor? James Earl Ray [the confessed assassin of Martin Luther King]. We miss you, James. Godspeed.”

Those are all from Rush Limbaugh. Need I continue?

Furthermore, I hope the rumors regarding Palin are true, not only because this blog deals with satire, but also because it would show how hypocritical her positions on family values and gun control are.

  7. You really need to check your facts. I know that the last one is a completely false attribution to Limbaugh. http://maaadddog.wordpress.com/2009/03/04/quotation-attributed-to-rush-limbaugh-is-a-damnable-lie/. I wonder about these other quotes as well, but in any event what you are hoping is quite a bit different from these alleged quotes. None of these is wishing personal ruin or pain on any individuals.

What if there was a rumor someone you opposed was racked with a painful disease? Would you hope that was true too? Or what if there was a rumor they were raped? Would you hope that too? There seems to be no proportion between what damage you hope occurs to the person you oppose and the policies or values they endorse. Why would you not wish her a happy family life if that is the family value she endorses? What is wrong with that family value?

    • By the way, all of the Limbaugh quotes are true. Are you surprised by what comes out of that serpant’s mouth? I’ll provide with fact check sources if you challenge me.

Before you ask what I would say about a rumor of someone “racked with a painful disease”, you should see the Limbaugh quote above. I believe that it is beyond question that Michael J. Fox is racked with a painful disease, don’t you?

Now, to answer your question. No, I would not wish that someone was racked with a painful disease or was raped simply because a rumor to that effect was floating around. The reason is because I would be wishing physical abuse or pain on an innocent individual. ON THE OTHER HAND, I do hope that the Palin rumors are true because she would not be innocent of a failed marriage if she was invoved in an extra-marital affair and Todd would not be innocent of anything if he pulled a gun on a minor. Those situations would simply expose the hypocracy of a failed politician, which she is.

      • I would not wish a failed marriage or the anguish that follows it and impacts the children on anyone. I would not hope for personal ruin on anyone, no matter what political position they take. I cannot believe you actually oppose the Governor so much you are willing to give way to your emotions so. It is odious to me to think another human being would be gloating over the personal anguish of another.

Lynnrockets, I have never commented here before, but have enjoyed your timely lyrics which are amazing. You are a GENIUS!

It saddens me when I see comments like those of “penilore” that try to twist everything into a negative perspective to support the ilk of Sarah Palin. Penilore, there is so much you do not know about Sarah Palin, or you are refusing to admit. Hopefully as you continue to learn more about the dark side of Sarah Palin and the people who placed her into the position as McCain’s running mate, your brick wall of denial will eventually crumble and let the light in.

But then, Lynnrockets, I read your intelligent, well-researched and thoughtful responses and it just brightens my day and gives me renewed hope for our nation. Thank you, Lynnrockets! You are awesome!

    • Wow! Thanks. I greatly appreciate that you visit the blog. I work hard to come up with a song or two everyday and hope that I do not burn out too soon. Comments like yours however, sure give me more energy. Thanks again for those kind words.

      • Pelinore,
You are one sick and twisted individual{I won’t call you a person,bc you are a disgrace to the human race!}Sarah Palin, has been through hell, for NO REASON at all!!! Except for the fact she was a woman of principles and good morals, and actually didn’t think she was better than the American voters!! Hilary Clinton on the other hand, another woman running for presidency, didn’t suffer near as much, simply bc she had/has no morals!! Just what Americans have began to like!! And America will pay for it too! Obama is seeing it it!! With Hilary’s help!! By the time they are done, you will wish Sarah was President!!,At least you will be able to own a gun!!

  9. Was waiting for that! LOL

  10. You go out of town in August, away from the supermarket tabloids, and miss out on the confirmation from Wasilla that Todd sleeps on the couch, the $35 dollar wedding ring is in Lake Lucille, and the blogger, Gryph, is vindicated. Nice timing for the vacation! (Hope you are having a great time!)

    • Yep, just my luck. Last month when I went on vacation SHE announced her resignation. Maybe my trips are triggering these events. Get it, “TRIPs” and “TRIGgering”?

  11. If that’s the case, I’ll take up a collection for your travels and provide some suggested itineraries.

  12. Pelinore,
My comments the other day about Sarah Palin,I accidently addressed it to you,and I apologize.Snotrockets is who I meant it to go to.You know the snot nosed, busibodied,Lynnrockets, who seems to have nothing better to do than gloat over the fact a family she says is falling apart.I say,she is a LIAR!! I happen to know this personally!!! I see and speak to Todd and Sarah and their beautiful children at least once a week, and yes Snotrocket,Trig.is beautiful inside and out, something u wld know nothing about,so again Pelinore,I apoligize for my comment to you,I meant it to go to that thing that dares to call herself human!

    • Angie,

I was wondering, but I did not take any offense. You are lucky that you know the Governor and her lovely family. I think we are indebted to her as a nation first by her courage and pro-life stand especially with regard to fighting for the sanctity of all humans including Downs Syndrome people, second by her entering the national stage now on the important topics of energy and healthcare. The firestorm she created by her frank rhetoric now has put a laser focus on what is really at stake here — rationing or freedom and has even caused Dr. Emanuel to clarify his views about rationing as reported in the Washington Times today.

Angie, I can understand the anger you have especially because you personally know the Governor, and the above exchange left me saddened by Lynnrockets.
