BREAKING NEWS:  At a New Hampshire Republican forum sponsored by the Koch brothers this week, failed 2008 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney defended the Massachusetts universal health care plan which he signed into law. This is a sure sign that summer is approaching because the Mitt(wit) has pulled his flip-flops out of storage yet again.

THIS JUST IN:  In another sign of democracy at work, a Michigan elections panel has voted to approve the language of a recall petition against Republican Governor Rick Snyder. Snyder is being targeted for promoting a series of initiatives that, in the language of the petition, “take authority and funds from local government and school districts,” gives emergency financial managers “the power to invalidate legal and binding contracts,” and “sought tax increases upon retirees and lower income families (and) large new tax cuts for corporations and businesses.” The recall petition follows on the heels of the numerous recall petions in Wisconsin filed against newly elected Republicans.

BREAKING NEWS:  Speaking of the new perils of anti-union Republicans, Florida Governor Rick Scott‘s bill to ban public employee unions from using automatic payroll deduction to collect dues is expected to die in the state senate because of a lack of support from GOP senators. It would appear that fear of the dreaded recall petition has crept south.

THIS JUST IN:  This week’s episode of “Everybody Loves A Racist” features Donald Trump. When asked during a radio interview about whether he is supported by African-Americans, the bankrupt billionaire boasted, “I have a great relationship with the blacks. I’ve always had a great relationship with the blacks.”  Also, John R. O’Donnell, the former president of Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino claims that Trump once said, in reference to a black accountant at Trump Plaza, “laziness is a trait in blacks.” O”Donnell also says that Trump once proclaimed, “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.” There is a lot more of this stuff but we will save it for a full post and song parody.

BREAKING NEWS:  Remember back in 2010 prior to the passage of our new health care reform law when Republicans peppered the air-waves with film of town hall meetings in which Tea Baggers, in a fugue of confusion, taunted Democratic members of Congress for daring to take away their Medicare? Well, the shoe is now on the other foot. As the result of the new Republican budget plan to completely privatize Medicare, those town hall meetings this year have taken a decidedly anti-GOP slant.  Rep. Daniel Webster‘s (R FL) town hall meeting last week featured a room full of irate constituents calling for the GOP to leave their Medicare alone. The tide is turning.

THIS JUST IN:  Republican Rep. Allen West of Florida is also facing the heat from constituents that are outraged at the GOP ban to dissolve Medicare. He has countered with a somewhat more brown-shirted tactic than most other Republican members of congress however. West simply has the police remove any citizen from a town hall meeting if they dare to vocally question him about Medicare. How is that for serving your constituency?

BREAKING NEWS:  A funny thing happened on the streets of Rhode Island last week. RawStory.com reports, Robert Watson, a high-ranking Republican state legislator in Rhode Island, is in hot water after being charged with driving under the influence of marijuana and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Drug charges alone would be bad enough for a public official, but Watson, Rhode Island’s House minority leader, is still remembered for his controversial anti-drug, anti-gay and anti-immigrant remarks. In February, Watson said the Rhode Island legislature had their priorities right “if you are a Guatemalan gay man who likes to gamble and smokes marijuana.” Hypocrisy remains a badge of honor for members of the GOP.

THIS JUST IN:  This week’s episode of “Strike Two – One To Go” features Republican Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer and her racist and discriminatory immigration law. The 9th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals has now affirmed the Federal District Court ruling which bans enforcement of the law which would force all darker complected citizens to carry their papers at all times to avoid detention for suspicion of being an illegal alien. The court held that the Arizona law countered federal law and may be unconstitutional.

BREAKING NEWS:  This week’s episode of “Sometimes Even The Insane Have a Moment of Clarity” features the very same Republican Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer. Last week, while being interviewed on CNN, Brewer said that she believes President Obama was born in Hawaii and that the birther issue is leading the nation “down a path of destruction.”

THIS JUST IN: The jab of the night at the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner was delivered by President Obama. First, he singled out an unsmiling Donald Trump and credited him with making hard decisions — such as firing Gary Busey over Meatloaf on an episode of “The Celebrity Apprentice”. He then followed with, “Now, he can focus on more important matters like, did we fake the moon landing? What really happened in Roswell? And where are Biggie and Tupac?”

MINOR SIDE-NOTE: President Barack Obama did what George W. Bush never could. He killed Osama bin Laden.

BREAKING NEWS: The Washington Post reports John Ensign (R-NV) will retire rather than seek reelection in 2012, he announced Monday afternoon. The decision brings to an end a tumultuous several years that saw him go from one of the party’s rising stars to persona non grata. The retirement decision comes in the wake of an ongoing Senate ethics committee investigation into whether Ensign acted improperly in an extramarital affair with Cynthia Hampton, who worked for Ensign’s political committees and whose husband, Doug, was a top legislative staffer for Ensign. “There are consequences to sin,” Ensign declared at a news conference in Las Vegas. He said he did not want to put his family though an “exceptionally ugly” campaign. Democrats can only hope that whack-job Sharron “2nd Amendment Remedies” Angle elects to run for this seat.

THIS JUST IN: For those of you that are not current on Vermont news, take note that by the next week, the House Health Care Committee will vote on a bill that authorizes the building blocks for a future single-payer health care system. You read that correctly. Vermont is actually working toward a health care system that progressives nation-wide would love for themselves. Keep up the good fight Vermont.

BREAKING NEWS: Last week we reported about the move afoot to recall Republican Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and several newly elected GOP state senators. This week we have learned that there is now a “Committee to Recall Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer” which has begun collecting signatures to begin the recall process. The moral of these stories? If you govern like a radical Tea-Bagger, you will not govern very long.

THIS JUST IN: This week’s episode of “Family Values Republicans Acting Badly” features California State Senator Roy Ashburn (now known as “Assburn”). The radically anti-gay politician was pulled over and arrested for drunk driving after leaving a gay nightclub. There was an unidentified man in the passenger seat of the car. (Insert appropriate hypocrite analogy here).

BREAKING NEWS: This week’s episode of “Who’s Wants To Be An Indicted Republican ?” stars Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White who was indicted this week on seven (7) felony counts including voter fraud, perjury and theft. White now joins other such noteworthy contestants as Tom Delay, Scooter Libby, Duke Cunningham and Roy Blunt.

THIS JUST IN: A Pro-Governor Scott Walker rally was held in Wisconsin this week. One of the featured speakers was the long-lost Joe the Plumber from McCain/Palin days. Joe apparently did not receive the memo about toning down violent rhetoric because he was ranting about “taking bullets for your children”. More interesting however, was the fact that only 600 people attended the rally. To put that paltry number in perspective. compare it to the more than 70,000 public union supporters attended the February 26th rally for that group. Who is more popular in Wisconsin?

BREAKING NEWS: President Barack Obama visited the city of Boston on Tuesday. He visited an innovative inner-city technical school known as TechBoston, mingled with the Boston Celtics and spoke at the Museum of Fine Arts. Most importantly however, he raised over $1 million for congressional Democrats.

THIS JUST IN: Magnitude 8.9 earthquake and tsunami hit Japan killing thousands. No further details.

BREAKING NEWS: This week’s episode of “The Twilight Zone” features former Republican Massachusetts Governor, failed Republican 2008 Presidential candidate and likely 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Boston area Republican political analyst Todd Domke wrote an editorial which appeared in yesterday’s Boston Globe. This was the most entertaining passage:

Rod Serling sets the stage:“Massachusetts is not just a state; it’s a state of mind. This is where pilgrims landed, taxpayers revolted, and witches burned. But what burns in one politician is ambition — ambition to leave his state and move into a big white house in Washington, D.C. For Mr. Mitt Romney, this state has become a nightmare. He wants to pack his political baggage and exit stage right, but he can’t leave because this state is his . . . Twilight Zone.’’

BREAKING NEWS: It was announced on Tuesday that radio station WOR in New York has dropped Glenn Beck‘s radio show as the result of poor ratings. Is it really any surprise that those well educated, elitist New Yorkers would have no reason to listen to Beck’s daily dose of misinformation? Will Philadelphia and Boston be next?

THIS JUST IN: This week’s episode of “Man With A Mission” features New York’s Democratic Party Senator Chuck Schumer. He has called for all Republican members of Congress who opposed last year’s health care reform legislation to decline the government provided health coverage for themselves and their families. Of course only one of those hypocrites has elected to turn down the health coverage that they hoped to deny their constituents.

BREAKING NEWS: Anyone else curious as to what really caused thousands of birds to fall dead from the Arkansas sky? Just wondering.

THIS JUST IN: This week’s episode of “I’m Not As Misguided As This Guy” feature’s Tucker Carlson of Fox News. Those of you that read this blog regularly will recall that I had a lengthy back and forth with a reader in the comment section of my posting about the Green Bay Packers last Sunday night. The reader felt that I went too far when I referred to the Philadelphia Eagles’ Michael Vick as the team’s “convicted felon and dog killing quarterback”. I defended my position by pointing out that I only spoke the truth. Vick is in fact, a dog killing convicted felon. The reader felt that I should lighten up on Vick, and maybe I should. Nevertheless, I certainly never went over the top with my dislike of Vick as did Tucker Carlson while filling in for Sean Hannity last week. Carlson actually called for Michael Vick’s execution. He said, “I’m a Christian, I’ve made mistakes myself, I believe fervently in second chances. But Michael Vick killed dogs and he did in a heartless and cruel way. And I think personally, he should have been executed for that.” I may dislike the guy but I certainly would not call for his execution. The folks at Fox News however always take an argument to its absurd extreme.

BREAKING NEWS: This week’s “Fox News Comments.com” racist quote appears in response to the Fox News headline, “Should Congress Raise The Nation’s Debt Ceiling”. The comment: “Negro-nomics must end! Stop spending and start saving! The citizens best invest in ammo, lots of ammo!” OK then.

THIS JUST IN: Speaking of Fox News, those masters of misinformation are at it again. MediaMatters.com informs us that during the January 3 edition of Fox News‘ “Fox & Friends“, the co-hosts brought on Fox News contributor Dana Perino to discuss her comments on the Energy and Independence Security Act of 2007 in The Washington Post. During the segment, she claimed that the bill included a “ban on incandescent light bulbs.” Problem is, it does not. The Energy Independence and Security Act which was passed in 2007 by a Republican majority Congress and signed into law by George W. Bush, does not ban all incandescent bulbs, only inefficient ones. The Faux News slogan should be,  “Misinformation For The Mainstream Media”.

BREAKING NEWS: This week’s episode of “The Real Death Panels of Arizona” features Arizona’s Republican Governor Jan Brewer. Since Brewer signed an executive order which cuts Medicaid funding to her state’s poorest residents, at least two people have died as the result of having their organ transplant claims denied. How’s that for an example of a Republican government bureaucrat coming between a doctor and his/her patient?

THIS JUST IN: Minnesota’s moonbat-crazy Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann made the news twice this week. First it was revealed that she is considering a run for the presidency in 2012. Then, just a day later, she introduced a bill to repeal the financial regulatory law recently enacted by the Democrats. The law’s co-sponsor Barney Frank (D-MA) lambasted the repeal effort in true flamboyant fashion. He said, “They yearn to return to the thrilling days of yesteryear, so the loan arrangers can ride again – untrammeled by any rules restraining irresponsibility, excess, deception, and most of all, infinite leverage.” The man has away with words and makes a more than valid point.

BREAKING NEWS: This week’s episode of “The Misinformed” features the Fox News audience. A recent poll conducted by WorldPublicOpinion.org revealed that “Those who watched Fox News almost daily were significantly more likely than those who never watched it to believe that most economists estimate the stimulus caused job losses (12 points more likely), most economists have estimated the health care law will worsen the deficit (31 points), the economy is getting worse (26 points), most scientists do not agree that climate change is occurring (30 points), the stimulus legislation did not include any tax cuts (14 points), their own income taxes have gone up (14 points), the auto bailout only occurred under Obama (13 points), when TARP came up for a vote most Republicans opposed it (12 points) and that it is not clear that Obama was born in the United States (31 points). The effect was also not simply a function of partisan bias, as people who voted Democratic and watched Fox News were also more likely to have such misinformation than those who did not watch it–though by a lesser margin than those who voted Republican.” Anyone surprised?

THIS JUST IN: It would not be a newsworthy week without some mention of Sarah Palin, now would it? It is especially rewarding when we can mention Palin and conservative Pundit Ann “The Man” Coulter in the same story. This week the Coulter guy tweeted, “Great video: head of GOProud interviewed by retarded person on MSNBC,” and provided a link to this interview, in which Barron of Republican gay rights group GOProud defends the group’s conservative credentials to Cenk Uygur, after invitees of the Conservative Political Action Conference boycotted an event over the inclusion of Barron’s organization. You might remember that last year Sarah Palin called for the firing of Rahm Emanuel for using the word “retard” but gave a pass to both Rush Limbaugh and shock-jock Ted Nugent for using the same word. Will Palin now call out Coulter or defend her use of the word as she did with the two right wingers? What is your guess? Oh and by the way, Ted Nugent is showing Palin no love. This week he told Anderson Cooper that he would not vote for Palin if she runs for president.

BREAKING NEWS: Speaking of Sarah Palin, Enteratinment Weekly (EW) reports that there will be no second season of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”. “EW did its due diligence and discovered there are no plans to send uber-producer Mark Burnett back to Wasilla with Palin, who’s lured an averaged 3.2 million viewers to TLC with her show. So this Sunday’s two-hour finale of Sarah Palin’s Alaska appears to be its last.” EW also states that “it makes sense why Palin wouldn’t want to commit to another season: If she and her family chose to shoot more episodes, it would surely be interpreted as a sign that she had no plans to run for office. By not doing a second round, Palin would spare TLC the trouble of having to provide her fellow candidates with equal-access time of their own in the event she did decide to run.” In Lynnrockets’ opinion, this is simply another charade by the Queen of Quit. If Palin agreed to film a 2nd season of her un-reality show this summer, it would reveal that she is not running for president. The only reason that Palin continues to draw the limelight and profit from it, is that she teases that she will run for office in 2012. As soon as it is certain that she will not run for the presidency, she is no longer newsworthy and her cash-cow will run dry. Consequently, Sarah Palin will do everything in her power to prolong the hype that she might run. As we all know however, in the end she is unelectable. Thank the Lord.

Boycott Of Racist Arizona Is Succeeding

The Associated Press reports that a boycott of Arizona following a controversial immigration law has cost the state more than $140 million in lost meeting and convention business. “The economic impact analysis commissioned by the Center for American Progress put hotel industry losses during the first four months after the signing at about $45 million. Visitors would have spent an additional $96 million during their stays, said Angela Kelley, the group’s vice president for immigration and advocacy.” The report conducted by the respected Scottsdale-based economic firm Elliot D. Pollack & Co. also says that lost bookings will probably continue for more than a year, multiplying the effect of the boycott called by immigrant-rights activists after Republican Governor Jan Brewer signed the state’s new racist profiling law last April. That law required police-in enforcing other laws-to question the immigration status of those suspected of being in the country illegally. Portions of the law have already been struck down by the courts.

The success of this boycott is a strong indication of the power of community action. It proves that the community as a whole can right the wrongs of an insensitive governmental action. In short, the state of Arizona is being financially punished for its insensitive law by the citizens and businesses of other states that are refusing to vacation and conduct business in Arizona until the law is modified or abolished. A similar tactic was used against Arizona 20 years ago over its refusal to honor the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. with a holiday.

Sarah Palin Is “Dowd” And Out

This week’s “I Gotcha” moment was delivered by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd (or “O’Dowd” as Sarah Palin calls her much like she called Joe Biden, “O’Biden”). In her column last Sunday, Dowd identified Sarah Palin, Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, Delaware Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell, California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina, Connecticut Senate candidate Linda McMahon, Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle, and Rep. Palin of course was insulted, but in typical Palin fashion, she could not let the slight go without a snarky response. She promptly ran to Fox News and said,

“That’s so funny, because I don’t think I’ve ever met that gal, Maureen Dowd – O’Dowd – whatever the heck her name is.

I don’t think I’ve ever met her, and I don’t think – she probably hasn’t met [Arizona Gov.] Jan Brewer or some of these other wonderful, pleasant, gracious, nice, hard-working mama grizzlies who are wanting to turn this country around.

So Maureen can say whatever she says. I encourage the other mama grizzlies and liberty-loving Americans to just keep smiling.”

Here is the rub. Maureen Dowd has pointed out that the only reason Sarah Palin never met her was because Dowd was barred from doing so. The Huffington Post reports that Dowd explained the circumstances as follows:

“I was eager to travel with her and interview her when she first got appointed by McCain,” said Dowd. “I think she’s a fascinating figure in the history of politics. But I was immediately barred from their campaign planes by the same McCain aides Palin later “escaped” from.”

So Sarah, you can blame your own campaign for never having met Maureen “O’Dowd”.

Sean Hannity: A Faux News Calamity

Sean Hannity has lost a lot of clout over at Faux News during the last year or so. Glenn “Crying Eyes” Beck has vaulted to the top of the propaganda network’s pecking order by means of his publicly televised long-running nervous breakdown. Hey, they may be gruesome, but nobody can look away from a train wreck, right? Let’s take a little gander:

Bill “Felafel Thing” O’Reilly has also jumped ahead of Hannity by means of his new approach. O’Reilly is now the only Fox News toady that will actually ask a tough question or challenge Sarah Palin’s ridiculously ignorant assertions. Here is an example:

So where does this leave former Fox golden boy, Sean Hannity? The brainless idiot schtick belongs to Beck. The “go against the Fox News grain” schtick now belongs to O’Reilly. Consequently, Hannity is left with the unenviable role of attempting to appear serious and interested while providing a platform for recently publicly embarrassed conservatives to rehabilitate their damaged images without having to face a tough question.

One recent example of this occurred last week when his guest was Arizona Governor Jan “Beheadings” Brewer. She had just been publicly humiliated during a televised debate during which not only did she refuse to admit that there were no beheadings in her state, but when challenged on the topic, she declared that she would not participate in any future debates. In short, Brewer announced that she was taking her ball and going home. She then suddenly appeared on Hannity’s show a few days later where he failed to mention the debate at all and instead, introduced Brewer as, “the woman who refuses to back down.” Wait a second, didn’t she just back down from previously scheduled debates? Hannity then allowed Brewer to assert without challenge that “the Federal Government is against Arizona and they’re going against everybody because they just don’t want to do their jobs”. Every other credible news source reported on Brewer’s debate performance and her stance on the mythical beheadings, yet Hannity never touched those subjects.

Sean Hannity does share at least one trait with all other Fox News hosts. He can be counted on to do very little research and then to misquote, misconstrue and take all sorts of President Obama’s words out of context. Case in point:  Newshounds reports that on Wednesday night’s show, Hannity said, “Now the president did have a rare moment of honesty during his speech and I hope voters around the country are watching this.” He played a clip of Obama saying, “Taxes are scheduled to go up substantially next year. For everybody.” Hannity then sneered, “I know the anointed one will make sure that that happens.”

Of course the quote was taken entirely out of context. Hannity did not tell his viewers that Obama was talking about how Republicans scheduled that tax increase and how he wants to avoid it for the middle class. Here is the excerpt from that portion of Obama’s speech in its entirety:

I’ll give you one final example of the differences between us and the Republicans, and that’s on the issue of tax cuts. Under the tax plan passed by the last administration, taxes are scheduled to go up substantially next year — for everybody. By the way, this was by design. When they passed these tax cuts in 2001 and 2003, they didn’t want everybody to know what it would do to our deficit, so they pretended like they were going to end, even though now they say they don’t. Now, I believe we ought to make the tax cuts for the middle class permanent. (Applause.) For the middle class, permanent. These families are the ones who saw their wages and incomes flat-line over the last decade -– you deserve a break.

This is just another example of why those people that seek their news from Sean Hannity and all the other Fox News hosts are so dreadfully uninformed. In the realm of news coverage, Sean Hannity is a disastrous calamity.

On a personal front. Sean Hannity is also an uneducated lying chicken-hawk. You might remember that the NYU dropout (that’s correct, Hannity has no college degree ala Limbaugh and Beck) insisted that “water-boarding” was not torture and that he could withstand the ordeal. Indeed, Hannity offered to undergo the procedure for charity. However, when MSNBC‘s Keith Olbermann agreed to donate $ 1,000.00 for every second that Hannity could endure the process, Sean put his tail between his legs, ran away and buried his very large head in the sand. He was too chicken to accept the challenge and in so doing, he also cost a worthy charity some much needed money. You are a girlie-man, Sean Hannity.

BREAKING NEWS: Minnesota Governor Tim (Good ‘n) Pawlenty is in hot water with his own contituants. According to the new survey from Minnesota Public Radio and the Humphrey Institute, 54 percent of Minnesotans aren’t too keen on the governor’s frequent out of state trips, which usually include visits to important presidential nominating states. Only 31 percent of voters approve of his busy travel schedule. In even worse news for Pawlenty, the poll indicates Minnesota Republicans apparently would prefer Mitt Romney as their presidential choice than their own governor. Stacked up against Romney, Pawlently loses 45-32 percent. In a matchup against Sarah Palin, Pawlenty comes out on top 59-24 percent. Bad news for Pawlenty, but does Palin ever, ever, ever come out on top in any poll?

THIS JUST IN: This week’s episode of “Republicans Making Unexpected Comparisons” features Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour. When asked last week if his southern accent might be a hindrance to a candidate running a national race dependent on support from the northeast and coasts, Barbour cited the examples of former Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. Wait a minute! Did a Republican just make a positive reference and self comparison to Jimmy Carter? This is the end of the world as we know it.

BREAKING NEWS: New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu weighed in on the contentious race for Senate in Nevada on Wednesday, criticizing Republican candidate Sharron Angle for saying in 2005 that she would have voted against funding for Katrina relief efforts. Landrieu said Angle “is simply too extreme and dangerous to serve in the United States Senate.” Truer words were never spoken.

THIS JUST IN: This week’s episode of “I Couldn’t Have Said It Better Myself” features former British Prime Minister Tony Blair who wrote in his recently released memoirs, that he hails former President George W. Bush’s “immense Simplicity”. “Nuff said.

BREAKING NEWS: Speaking of Sarah Palin and recent polls, Politico.com reports,

Even after watching her preferred candidate surprisingly triumph in Alaska’s Senate race, Sarah Palin’s home state is no sure thing for the former governor as she trails former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in a hypothetical 2012 matchup, according to a new poll. Only 17 percent of the 805 Alaska Republicans surveyed by Public Policy Polling said they would back Palin in a 2012 GOP primary, the same percentage who voiced support for former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt(wit) Romney led the field, garnering 20 percent.

“Fortunately for Sarah Palin, Alaska decides few convention delegates, and coming more than a month after Super Tuesday, she may not survive the race to be embarrassed on her home turf,” said Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling.

THIS JUST IN: This week’s episode of “Queen of the Guillotine” features Arizona Governor, Jan Brewer. You might remember last June when her state’s racial profiling immigration law was all the rage, Brewer defended it by alleging that there had been beheadings in the Arizona desert as a result of rampant illegal immigration. Problem is, she lied. Medical examiners from six of Arizona’s counties, several of which boarder Mexico, later told the Arizona Guardian that they had never witnessed victims who had been beheaded. For four months Brewer has been asked to provide evidence of beheadings in her state yet she did not comply. Finally, she took back her words and provided something like an apology to the Associated Press. She said, “That was an error, if I said that.” No, Ms. Brewer it was an error when (not “if”) you said it. In fact why don’t you just come clean and say that it was a premeditated lie when you said it?

Sarah Palin Exposed As Classless, Unpatriotic And Ignorant

Remember the days immediately following 9/11, right on through the run-ups to both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, when Republicans labeled any criticism of President George W. Bush as “unpatriotic”? They argued that during wartime, the President must be fully supported by both parties and that any negativism about his policies bordered upon treason. You might also recall that the most vocal solicitor of that mindset was none other than the wholly owned G.O.P. subsidiary known as Fox News. For years Fox hosts such as Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck broadcast on a nightly basis their newest addition to their list of Democratic traitors who dared to question the President’s tactics regarding national security. The G.O.P. and Fox blindly worshiped Bush and Co. and hailed the virtues of such civil rights restrictions as The Patriot Act, the warrantless wiretapping program and even the illegal torture of detainees. In short, the Republicans and Fox News unequivocally proclaimed that “You are either with us or against us and, if you are against us, you are a traitor”.

Well, something funny happened on the way to 2010. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq continue, but a Republican is no longer the Commander in Chief. Suddenly, both the G.O.P. and Fox News have come full circle and believe that it is quite appropriate and, dare we say “patriotic”, to criticize the President on matters of national security. And damn the facts, their criticisms of Barack Obama are usually based upon fabricated falsehoods and unadulterated fear mongering.

One of the most despicable purveyors of non-fact based Presidential criticism is none other than Sarah Palin. The former half-term ex-quitting governor of Alaska, failed Republican Vice Presidential candidate and current Fox News contributor cannot go a single day without tweeting, posting an indecipherable Facebook message or taking to the Fox airwaves to spew her uniquely incomprehensible form of anti-Obama rhetoric. Remember her lies about the fictitious “death panels” included in the health care reform law? How about her lie that President Obama would “ban guns if he could” despite the fact that his stated policy on gun ownership is “there’s nothing that I will do as President of the United States that will in any way encroach on the ability of sportsmen to continue that tradition (of owning guns)”. Another example is Palin’s Fox broadcast lie that the Obama administration was hampering the clean-up of the Gulf oil spill by failing to accept help from “the Dutch and the Norwegian (sic)”. Her fictitious accusations go on and on, but we digress.

Palin sank to a new low last Sunday while appearing as a guest on “Fox News Sunday”. While discussing the Obama administration’s partial judicial victory last week in the litigation over Arizona’s controversial immigration law, Palin said  that Arizona’s female Republican governor has “the cojones that our President does not” when it comes to securing America’s borders. You read that correctly, the verbally challenged Palin claimed, in essence, that Jan Brewer has more “balls” than Barack Obama. How is that for showing respect for the office of the President of the United States of America during a time of war? Here is her full quote:

And, Jan Brewer, bless her heart, she’s going to do all that she can to continue down the litigation path to allow secure borders because she’s – Jan Brewer has the cojones that our president does not have to look out for all Americans – not just Arizonans – but all Americans in this desire of ours to secure our borders and allow legal immigration to help build this country. . . . if our own president will not enforce a federal law, more power to Jan Brewer . . . to do what our president won’t do.

Sarah Palin has shown once again that she is a classless hillbilly. To publicly criticize the Commander in Chief by making reference to his genitalia is beyond contempt. What is it with Palin’s obsession with all things sexually related? Remember when in her ghost-written memoir she claimed that two of her daughters were threatened with gang rape at school (although “mama bear” never reported such to either the police or school officials)? There was also the time that she accused her grandson’s father Levi Johnston of being involved in the porn industry for modeling nude in Playgirl while ignoring the fact that she endorsed the  Republican Senate candidate and nude centerfold model Scott Brown.  How about when she accused author Joe McGinniss of peering into daughter Piper’s bedroom? Sarah Palin has sex on the brain and lacks the dignity to keep her thoughts to herself and not on the national airwaves. She is like that friend or relative that you are always afraid to invite to public gatherings for fear that she will embarrass you with some sort of inappropriate sexual remark better suited for the bedroom.

Furthermore, does Palin not realize that we are still at war and by her own standards it is unpatriotic to criticize the President? Additionally, she is ignorant of the fact that the Obama administration has done more to secure our borders and has captured more illegal aliens than the Bush regime. Yet, where was her criticism then? She doesn’t want you to know that there are more National Guard troops at the southern border than at any time in the past and more are on the way. She also doesn’t want you to know that this administration has deported more illegal aliens than did the Bush regime. She wants you to forget that her own running mate, John McCain advocated not only a forgiveness to illegal immigrants, but a path to citizenship. Can you recall her demeaning his cajones? By the way, let’s take a look at Sarah Palin unsuccessfully attempting to explain her policy on illegal immigrants. It is a real laugh to witness her complete lack of understanding how to address the issue.

So there you have it. Sarah Palin is classless because of her complete lack of respect for the office of the President which is exemplified by her vulgar genitalia language. She is unpatriotic (by her own terms) because she undermines a war time President by saying that his policies weaken our national security. She is ignorant because she has no coherent policy of her own. Hey Sarah, let’s put this in terminology you can understand. When you fall on your face during your next political campaign, let’s hope your tetas don’t deflate!

BREAKING NEWS: BP has still been unable to cap the massive oil spill triggered by its and Hailliburton‘s and Transocean‘s negligence. The “let’s try to fill the thing with golf balls” method indicates the lack of repair alternatives remaining. We have also learned that the spill is some four times greater than BP led the US Government to believe, making it the largest oil spill in history. Meanwhile, Republicans (or should we call them “BPublicans”) and Tea-Baggers continue to clamor for less corporate regulation.

THIS JUST IN: The racist State of Arizona has elected to by-pass its own Attorney General to defend the state against lawsuits filed in opposition to the state’s new racial profiling immigration law. Instead, the state will hire costly outside private counsel because the state legislature and Governor Jan Brewer have a “lack of confidence in the Attorney General’s willingness to vigorously defend” When your state’s very own Attorney General feels a law is unconstitutional, you’ve got a problem. Now in addition to all the revenue lost as the result of the increasing boycott of all things Arizonan, the state’s taxpayers will be forced to spend even more money on outside private counsel.

BREAKING NEWS: This week’s episode of “Give ‘Em Enough Rope And They Are Sure To Hang Themselves” features Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul. The Sarah Palin endorsed candidate that told us last week that he believes that private business should once again be allowed to racially  discriminate, now tells us that he wants so called “anchor babies” (children born in the US with parents not legally in the country) to be stripped of their US citizenship and deported. Problem is, the US Constitution says, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.” Rand Paul, we hardly knew ye.

THIS JUST IN: Progressive liberals have another good chance to defeat an incumbent DINO. Arkansas Lt. Gov. Bill Halter is outpacing incumbent Blanche Lincoln in raising funds for the Democratic Party run-off election for the Arkansas US Senate seat. Lincoln you may recall, tends to vote against progressive causes and with the Republicans far too frequently. Please donate what you can to Bill Halter in an effort to put a true progressive in office.

BREAKING NEWS: Seems this whole Obama/Sestak thing is just a whole lot of nothing. That is of course, so long as you are a Ronald Reagan admirer. Take a look at this little piece from the PA in 1981,

Arizona Gets Becked By Boycotters

Just as Glenn Beck’s racist comments resulted in a massive advertiser boycott of his Fox News program to the extent that the show has virtually no sponsors, The State of Arizona is now facing a boycott of its own. In addition to the five pending lawsuits against the state’s recently enacted racial profiling law which may, on their own, prevent the law from ever being utilized, many municipalities have officially enacted boycotts against Arizona. This ever growing list of cities has each passed ordinances which prohibit city employees from traveling to Arizona and the municipalities have also prohibited any city contracts with Arizona businesses. Here is the list of boycotting cities to date:

-Boston, Massachusetts
